It all started with an idea our parents had to make more money, so they could buy a house and live the American dream. They knew they had good food and a love and passion for cooking that they needed to share. Our parents started making food for close friends not knowing where it would go. Their friends loved the food and told others about it. The word spread and they started catering for birthday parties, weddings and corporate parties. My mom and dad were finally able to buy the house and live the American dream.
Due to health concerns and wanting to be with grandkids they had to step away from catering. In 2014 Randy and Junior Salinas, while watching an episode of BBQ Pitmasters, decided that they wanted to bring it back to life. That is when Big Salinas Barbecue was born. We wanted to provide a new and improved product and show that same love and passion that our parents had for it.
The business continues to grow and grow. We have catered all types of events from weddings, birthday parties, fantasy football drafts, holiday parties and even family dinner’s. Catering was not all we wanted to do, we wanted to compete in BBQ Competitions and put our skills to the test. Both ventures have paid off and have opened new doors for us. We have now started making homemade sauces and rubs. Who knows what the future holds for us.
